Historically the planting of timber trees was used to supply the navy, in house construction, to produce pit props for the mines, to employ the poor and to ornament the nation. Today there are different priorities for forestry, which are explored in this talk by Professor Jim Lynch OBE – Distinguished Professor of Life Sciences, University of Surrey and Chair of Governors, University of Chichester.
Bar open 7pm.
