‘DUCKS’ DITTY’ – Extract from ‘Wind in the Willows’ – Kenneth Grahame
“All along the backwater,
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks are a-dabbling,
Up tails all!
Ducks' tails, drakes' tails,
Yellow feet a-quiver,
Yellow bills all out of sight
Busy in the river!”
Hundreds of bright yellow ducks will be launched into the river from the old bridge by the Jubilee Gardens at approximately 10am on Monday 26th August. (tide dependent) Please listen out for announcements on the day.
Please note these bobbing ducks do not always behave- they get trapped amongst the reeds and debris in the river Arun.
‘Snowdrop’ is very grateful to the Arun Divers who oversee the safety of these swimmers!
It is a wonderful family spectacle not be missed and a firm favourite of the Festival.
The Sussex Snowdrop Trust are delighted to be part of this event.
Please support them by purchasing a ticket to get a duck in the race!
