As the name suggests Bridge House is by the River Arun in the centre of Arundel, with direct access to glorious riverbank walks with wonderful views of Arundel Castle, the town and cathedral. Situated just in the South Downs national park, but within a small lively town, Bridge House is a perfect base to explore the area on foot, by bicycle or by car. Private parking and garaging of bicycles is available. Arundel train station is a ten minute walk away with a regular direct service to Gatwick airport and London Victoria, which takes 90 minutes. Arundel Castle, the cathedral, local shops, restaurants, pubs and the WWT Arundel Wetlands centre are all within easy walking distance. Chichester, Goodwood and Fontwell are a short drive away. Bridge House is directly on an ancient footpath known as the Monarch’s Way. At 615 miles it is one of the longest English footpaths following the journey reportedly taken by the future King Charles II from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea and from there to France in 1651.
