Arundel Petanque Club

Pétanque is a form of boules where the goal is to toss hollow steel balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball or ‘jack’. Due to its French origins, some people know the game as French Boules. It is a sport that is enjoyed by all and of different abilities; it is very much a family sport. It can be played as singles, doubles or triples.
We have members of all ages and we cater for everybody from those who enjoy the game socially to those that want to compete internationally at élite level. There is a strong national youth development scheme which caters for four ages groups: Junior-16 & 17 years, Cadet-13, 14 &15 years, Minor-10, 11 & 12, Benjamin - up to and including 9 years.
Arundel Pétanque Club is a thriving club situated in the Arundel Football Club grounds.  It has an enclosed terrain, wooded on one side with a picnic area next to the terrain.  The entrance is opposite the main entrance to Arundel Castle in the north-east corner of the pay & display car park We are then in the north-east corner of the football grounds behind the stands.
The Club is twinned with Trévières in Normandy, a small farming community close to the Normandy beaches. We often visit in February for the start of their season - they are always very welcoming and provide us with home grown food and copious glasses of wine and pastis!

Please come and try for a few weeks and meet the members. You can then decide whether to join the club (there is a small annual fee).
We play every Wednesday from 6pm in the winter (7.30pm in the summer) and Sundays 10.30am - 1.00pm weather permitting - look out for the Secretary’s weather report
